Meet Our Team

Adam and Ann – Executive Directors

Adam and Ann Boyd serve as the Executive Directors of BME, as well as Camps Merri-Mac and Timberlake. Adam grew up in adventure programming, following his parents footsteps into professional camping. He met Ann while at Wofford college and she at Converse, and they have been committed to professional outdoor leadership since. Subsequently Adam received his Masters of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry from Reformed Theological Seminary. Adam is a life-long climber, an instructor trainer for the Professional Climb Instructor’s Association, past board president of the North Carolina Youth Camp Association and author of Jonathan Edwards, Beauty, And Younger Evangelicals. With their own children now coming on staff, Adam and Ann remain dedicated to growth through friends and adventure.

Bryan Wilson – Director

Bryan WilsonBryan has always had a passion for the outdoors. He grew up backpacking with his father, which inspired him to earn a degree in Wilderness Leadership and Experiential Education from Brevard College. His passion for leadership and rescue led him to work for the Asheville Fire Department. When he wasn’t on shift, Bryan spent his time guiding whitewater trips, climbing and exploring trails on his mountain bike. He is married to his adventure partner, Emily, and together they have a son, Silas.

Bryan has led trips all over the country and his mission has been the same – adventure with a purpose. He is proud to extend this mission through Black Mountain Expeditions.

Andrean Pelham

Andrea Pelham is an Assistant Director in each of our programs and spends the majority of her time recruiting and developing staff. You can almost always find her behind the scenes creating effective systems and making things easier for everyone. Andrea spent the first two decades of her life attending a girls summer camp. She fell in love with the community that can be found in camp and continued to chase that community after graduating from Presbyterian College. She is thrilled to be a part of the Merri-Mac / Timberlake / Black Mountain Expeditions leadership team.
