Each year, we employ 50+ guides, and we’re always looking for the right talent to join our team! There are options to work one event or to work our entire fall season.

Experience in facilitation and guiding is always helpful, but definitely not a requirement. We care more about finding the right people than finding people with certain credentials.
We work hard to make BME a fun place to work. Our goal is to see our guides want to come back year after year, and the best way to do that is to treat them well and help them develop and grow as an outdoor leader. Whether you work in the outdoor industry for a career or just a season, we want to help prepare you for whatever is next in your life.
Our guides range in age from 18-65, with most being in their mid- to late-20’s. They’re all in a variety of stages of life including college students, young professionals, and seasoned outdoor leaders. One thing they all have in common is their love of adventure and commitment to invest in young people.
Every guide receives training on how to work safely with minors, abuse prevention, and understanding our policies and procedures. For those working our fall season, we do a deeper dive that includes group facilitation and activity-specific training.
Some activities we lead require specific certs (i.e. WFR, SPI, Lifeguard, etc.) while others do not. We have a place for guides with and without certifications.
During programs, you can expect long, but extremely rewarding days. During On Property and Base Camp programs, faculty stay in cabins with participants so that guides have a few hours of down-time each evening. During Expeditions, you’re on 24-7 until the event is over. Most of our events range from 2-5 days in length.
