Everglades Kayaking Adventure

Join us as we explore the Florida Everglades’ 10,000 Islands this January! This is one of the premier open water destinations in the world, and it’s right in our backyard. We’ll spend each day kayaking island-to-island spotting the Manatees, Dolphins, Osprey and other creatures that call this place home. The Everglades are a wild place where the land meets the sea.

This adventure is for 18-25 year olds who might be entering into a similar in-between space, asking “what is God calling me to next,” and “what are my next steps?”

Learning how to travel and live safely in the Everglades requires learning how to paddle a kayak, understand the tides and currents, being attentive to the weather and learning how to read and understand charts and a compass. We’ll teach you how to do all of these things, and along the way we’ll consider what navigating the 10,000 Islands has to teach us about navigating bigger questions about identity, calling, relationships, spirituality and more.

Itinerary:

Day 1: January 2
We’ll meet you at the Ft. Myers airport (RSW) and head straight to Everglades City. We will arrive in time for an early dinner before an orientation to our charts and trip plan.

Day 2: January 3
We’ll start the morning with paddle school. Our sea kayaks are stable and easy to navigate so it won’t take long to begin paddling like a pro. Once we’re all comfortable we’ll head out on the water and a beautiful destination in the 10,000 Islands.

Days 3-5: January 4-6
Each day will have a different adventure as we paddle through mangrove tunnels and open marshes on our way to the next island destination. Nights camping on the beach with five-star meals will be the perfect end to beautiful days.

Day 6: January 7
We’ll paddle back to Everglades City, retire our boats before a celebratory dinner. Every great trip ends with a great meal.

Day 7: January 8
After our final evening around the campfire we’ll rise early and head back to the airport.
